15 PHCN successor companies meet target – BPE
The 15 PHCN successor companies have met the deadline for the payment of the mandatory 25 per cent of the offer value of their bids, a statement said.. Mr Chigbo Anichebe, the Head of Public Communications of the Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE), gave the information in a statement in Abuja.
“As at March 21 deadline, the BPE had received 559.4million dollars from 14 bidders for 15 successor companies. The BPE, on March 21, received 31million dollars from four power consortiums, being the mandatory 25 per cent of the bid value for Port-Harcourt Distribution Company. BPE also received 31.5 million dollars from Interstate Electrics Limited, being the mandatory 25 per cent of the bid value for Enugu Distribution Company It also received 27.9 million dollars from North-South Power Company for Shiroro Power Plc,’’ the statement said.
It noted that earlier that Vigeo Consortium, the preferred bidder for Benin Distribution Company, paid 32.25 million dollars. The statement added that Transcorp/Woodrock Consortium, the preferred bidder for Ughelli Power Plc, paid 75 million dollars, while CMEC/EUAFRIC Energy JV, the preferred bidder for Sapele Power Plc, paid 50.2 million dollars. It also stated that Kann Consortium, the preferred bidder for Abuja Distribution Company paid 41million dollars and Aura Energy, the preferred bidder for Jos Distribution Company, paid 20.4 million dollars.
“Mainstream Energy Ltd, the preferred bidder for Kainji Power Plc, paid 59.4 million dollars and Sahelian Power SPV, the preferred bidder for Kano Distribution Company, paid 34.2 million dollars,’’ the statement added. Another bidder is Amperion Power Company Limited, the preferred bidder for Geregu Power Plc, which paid 33 million dollars, it said. The statement also said Integrated Energy Distribution & Marketing Company, the preferred bidder for Ibadan and Yola Distribution Companies, paid 42.2million dollars and 14.7 million dollars for Ibadan and Yola Discos respectively. “NEDC/KEPCO, the preferred bidder for Ikeja Distribution Company, paid 32.7 million dollars and West Power & Gas, the preferred bidder for Eko Distribution Company, paid 33.7 million dollars,’’ it said.
