Investors trade 198.46m shares worth N1.60bn on NSE
Investors on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) on Wednesday traded a total of 198.46 million shares worth N1.60 billion transacted in 3,538 deals. The level of transaction contrasted with 237.84 million shares valued at N1.36 billion exchanged in 3,885 deals on Tuesday.
The banking sub-sector remained the most active with FCMB Group emerging the most traded with an exchange of 25.67 million shares worth N27.11 million. It was followed by GT Bank which accounted for 20.96 million shares valued at N381.54 million, while UBA sold 15.79 million Shares worth N53.99 million. Wema Bank traded 14.41 million shares valued N10.59 million and Fidelity Bank exchanged 13.84 million shares worth N16.12 million.
Also, the All-Share Index for the day dropped 15.94 points or 0.06 per cent to close at 25,630.62 points compared with 25,646.56 posted on Tuesday. The market capitalisation lost N2 billion to close at N8.82 trillion against N8.81 trillion recorded on Tuesday.
Total led the losers’ table with a loss of N1.59 to close at N150.41 per share. Dangote Cement lost N1.31 to close at N162.52 per share and Flour Mill dipped N1.23 to close at N23.76 per share.
Lafarge Wapco dropped 50k to close at N69 per share and UPL shed 27k to close at N5.15 per share. Conversely, Conoil recorded the highest price gain to lead the gainers’ chart with 83k to close at N18.10 per share. Union Dicon garnered 61k to close at N12.90 per share and Nigerian Breweries chalked up 49k to close at N118 per share. Tiger Brands gained 46k to close at N5.05 per share and GT Bank rose by 34k to close at N18.35 per share. (NAN)
