9mobile backs fusion of arts, tech at Lasmara Impart Artists Fair
Nigeria’s innovative telco service provider, 9mobile, has reaffirmed its commitment to novelty by partnering with Lasmara, promoters of contemporary African arts, to host the maiden ‘Impart Artists Fair’ in Nigeria. This latest collaboration saw 9mobile provide complimentary internet access support at the fair which had as its theme ‘Art Meets Tech’. The event held from October 25-27, 2019, at the prestigious Eko Atlantic, Victoria Island, Lagos. As first arts meets tech fair in Africa, the exhibition featured immersive technology like virtual and augmented reality that enabled guests and enthusiasts to enjoy art in a new and more experiential way.
Speaking at the exclusive pre-event opening of the fair on Thursday October 24, Acting Managing Director, 9mobile, Stephane Beuvelet, said the telecom company supported the fair to further underscore its unwavering commitment to promoting innovative enterprise in Nigeria and across the continent. “This partnership is about innovation, life and technology that will bring more capabilities to everyone. It is also aimed at promoting the spirit of enterprise in the value chain of the arts industry. In addition, we are leveraging this partnership to create strategic ties with partners such as Lasmara who share our passion for innovation and to restate 9mobile’s unwavering commitment to excellent service delivery, while contributing to the development of Nigeria’s economy,” he said.
Beuvelet added that with the support, 9mobile is fostering opportunities for more people, especially the young and all arts enthusiasts to follow their passion, and to leverage the numerous digital solutions from the network to unleash their creative capabilities. Commenting on the partnership with 9mobile, Founder, Lasmara Arts Consultancy, Hana Omilani, commended the management of 9mobile for its unwavering commitment to the growth of Africa’s arts industry. “This is a sustainable partnership that will yield bountifully in helping to harness the abundant budding talents in Nigeria and also help in creating employment for the youth,” she enthused. Impart Artists Fair is Lasmara’s new initiative and platform to promote the capacity of African artists within and outside the continent. The fair played host to more than 300 African artists, exhibiting over 1000 recent artworks to visitors including over 6000 international and local arts collectors, members of the art community and students.
