NSE: value of traded shares dips by 94%
The total value of shares traded by investors on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) dipped by 94 per cent on Thursday as 160.38 million shares worth N1.014 billion were traded in 3,208 deals. This was against 4.5 billion shares valued at N17.13 billion traded in 3,263 deals on Wednesday. The All- Share Index, which opened at 21, 573.84, depreciated by 31.61 points or 0.15 per cent to close at 21,542.23. Market capitalisation also fell by N11billion or 0.15 per cent to close at N6.876 trillion compared with N6.887 trillion recorded a day before. Presco led the price losers’ chart with 77k to close at N2, 490 per share. Unilever followed with 66k to close at N30.32 per share, while Oando price dipped by 30k to close at N12.80. First Bank depreciated by 12k to close at N10.75 per share, while Union Bank dipped by 11k to close at N3.73 per share. NewGold ledthe gainers’ chart with N8 to close at N227 per unit. Total gained N5 to close at N125, while Ashaka Cement rose by 43k to close at N9.37 per share. Glaxosmithkline appreciated by 25kto close at N23.25, while Nigerian Breweries grew by 23k to close at 101.23 per share.
