DSS releases Emefiele to EFCC
Godwin Emefiele, a former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), who had been in the custody of the Department of State service (DSS) was released by the DSS on Thursday night but was, however, rearrested by the Economic and Financial Commission (EFCC) the same night. Embattled Emefiele is currently with the EFCC. Emefiele was arrested by the DSS in June on the directive of Presidency over allegations of abuse of office for which he was arraigned at an Abuja Hight Court. He also appeared at a federal high Court in Lagos on allegation of illegal possession of firearms.
