NGX ASI gains 10bps
Today, the local bourse recovered from losses from the prior trading session as the benchmark index gained 10bps to settle at 98,206.97 points. The market’s recovery was bolstered by buying interest in MTNN (+3.47%), OANDO (+0.90%), and ACCESSCORP (+0.21%), which outweighed losses in GCTO (-0.38%) , ZENITHBANK (-0.79%) , and UBA (-0.75%). Consequently, the year-to-date (YTD) return increased to 31.34%, while the market capitalisation gained ₦60.29bn to close at ₦59.53tn. Analysis of today’s market activities showed trade turnover settled lower relative to the previous session, with the value of transactions down by 0.40%. A total of 939.41m shares valued at ₦12.81bn were exchanged in 9,098 deals. WAPIC (+1.71%) led the volume chart with 457.64m units traded, while MTNN (+3.47%) led the value chart in deals worth ₦4.32bn. Market breadth closed positive at a 1.89-to-1 ratio with advancing issues outnumbering declining ones. GOLDBREW (+9.93%) topped thirty-five (35) others on the leader’s log, while JOHNHOLT (-9.96%) led eighteen (18) others on the laggard’s table.
