Abuja court jails former acting AGF, Nwabuoku, to 72yrs in prison over N868m fraud

A former acting Accountant-General of the Federation Chukwunyere Anamekwe Nwabuoku, has been sentenced to 72 years imprisonment by a Federal High Court in Abuja over N868.46 million fraud.

He was convicted and sentenced for money laundering, after the court found him guilty of all charges levelled against him.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) said this in a post on its X handle on Monday.

The statement reads: “The former Acting Accountant-General of the Federation, Chukwunyere Anamekwe Nwabuoku, who was prosecuted by the EFCC at the Federal High Court, Abuja, for money laundering involving N868.46 million, has been convicted and sentenced to jail for 72 years.”
