NGX All-Share Index declined by 0.35%, market capitalisation drops by 0.35%
Nigerian equities market closed today’s session on a bearish note, with the NGX All-Share Index (ASI) declining by 0.35% to 241,611.23 points. Market capitalisation also fell by 0.35% to N155.97trn, while the market’s year-to-date (YTD) return moderated to 55.26%, from 55.81% in the previous session.
The negative performance was largely driven by profit-taking in stocks such as FIRSTHOLDCO (-5.71%), FIDELITYBK (-6.59%), and NGXGROUP (-3.83%), which outweighed buying interests in NB (+1.47%), ACCESSCORP (+0.37%), and HMCALL (+9.97%).

Trading activity was mixed, with traded volume declining by 67.69% to 429.84mn units, while transaction value gained by 19.86% to N27.48bn. STERLINGNG (+1.31%) led the volume chart with 16.05mn units, while MTNN (+0.00%) led the value chart with trades worth N9.76bn.
Market breadth remained negative at 0.59x, reflecting more decliners than gainers, with thirty-seven (37) stocks declining against twenty-two (22) advancers. REDSTAREX (-10.00%) led the losers, while HMCALL (+9.97%) led the gainers.
