NGX All-Share Index crosses 60,000 points, up 1.30%

Today, the domestic bourse continued its winning streak as the benchmark index gained 1.30% to settle at 60,108.86 points, the highest point since over a decade (precisely 5 March 2008 when it was 66,381.20). Gains in MTNN (+2.77%), ZENITHBANK (+4.62%), and GTCO (+5.20%) buoyed the broad market’s strong performance. As a result, the year-to-date (YTD) return rose to 17.28%, while market capitalization gained ₦421.19bn to close at ₦32.73trn.

Analysis of today’s market activities showed trade turnover settled lower relative to the previous session, with the value of transactions down by 4.01%. A total of 763.70m shares valued at ₦12.53bn were exchanged in 9,463 deals. ACCESSCORP (+3.61%) led the volume chart with 111.67m units traded while GTCO (+5.20%) led the value chart in deals worth ₦2.69bn.

Market breadth closed positive at a 4.75-to-1 ratio with advancing issues outnumbering declining ones. COURTVILLE (+10.00%) topped thirty-seven (37) others on the leader’s log, while MAYBAKER (-6.42%) led seven (7) others on the laggard’s table.
