NGX capitalization gained ₦37.75bn to close at ₦63.20tn
Opening the week, the Lagos bourse extended gains from the previous week as the benchmark index closed 6bps stronger to 103,648.24 points. Buy interest in Teir-1 banking tickers including ZENITHBANK (+0.32%), FBNH (+3.40%), and ACCESSCORP (+2.04%) offset losses in OANDO (-0.62%) and GTCO (-1.40%) leaving the index in the positive terrain. Consequently, the year-to-date (YTD) return rose to 70bps while market capitalization gained ₦37.75bn to close at ₦63.20tn. Analysis of today’s market activities showed trade turnover settled higher relative to the previous session, with the value of transactions up by 60.73%. A total of 855.97m shares valued at ₦13.25bn were exchanged in 16,505 deals. For the second session in a row, CHAMS (+1.73%) led the volume chart with 80.76m units traded while GTCO (-1.40%) led the value chart with deals worth ₦3.07bn. Market breadth closed positive at a 2.42-to-1 ratio with advancing issues outnumbering the declining ones. WEMABANK (+10.00%) topped forty-five (45) others on the leader’s table while CUTIX (-5.45%) led eighteen (18) others on the laggard’s log.
