The Nigerian Stock Exchange All-Share Index gained 55basis points. UBA rallied today closing with a 4.9 per cent mark-up with demand racking up during the session and sellers holding out in anticipation of further appreciation; GTBank and First Bank also inched up with gains of 2.6 per cent and 1.6 per cent respectively. On the flip side, Union Bank, Stanbic IBTC and Skye Bank went south shedding 4.4 per cent, 3.1 per cent and 0.4 per cent respectively. NASCON and 7-up were also on the up-tick today, bagging gains in excess of 4.0 per cent apiece; Dangote Sugar also moved up by 2.0 per cent while Honeywell Flour lost 4.8 per cent and others in the sector recorded no change. A dearth of demand shaved off full points from Eterna Oil with closing sentiments likely to lead to further losses tomorrow; on the other hand, Oando consolidated on previous gains with a 4.2 per cent mark-up while Forte Oil also inched up 3.8 per cent.
