NSE: market capitalisation appreciates marginally
Investors’ net worth on the Nigerian Stock Exchange appreciated by 0.85 per cent on Tuesday as the market maintained the upbeat trend. At the close of trading, the All-Share Index, which opened at 26,822.09, grew by 228.1 points to close at 27,050.19. The market capitalisation also appreciated by N73 billion to close at N8.643 trillion against N8.570 trillion recorded on Monday. Nestle led the price gainers’ chart with N16.51 to close at N675.06 per share. 7UP and NewGold followed with N4 each to close at N44 per share and N2, 618 per unit, respectively.
Nigerian Breweries grew by N3 to close at N148 per share, while Okomu Oil share price appreciated by N1 to close at N35. On the other hand, Cadbury led the losers’ chart, dropping 35k to close at N29.45 per share. DNMEYER followed with a loss of 25k each to close at N2.27 per share, while Portpaint depreciated by 21k to close at N4.17 per share. IHS and Presco lost 11k each to close at N2.14 and 14.90 per share, respectively. In all, investors’ traded 378.87 million shares worth N2.6 billion in 4,602 deals on Tuesday against the 443.82 million shares valued N2.2 billion and traded in 4,043 deals on Monday.
