NSE market capitalisation up by N63bn
Weekly transactions on the Nigerian Stock Exchange opened on a positive note on Monday as some major blue chips recorded price gains. The All-Share Index, which opened at 33,313.48, appreciated by 198.15 points or 0.59 per cent to close at 33,511.63. Also, the market capitalisation grew by N63 billion or 0.59 per cent to close at N10.721 trillion from the N10.658 trillion recorded on Friday.
Mobil recorded the highest price gain of N5.52 to close at N125.97 per share.
PZ Cusson trailed with N4.04 to close at N44.48, while UACN grew by N3 to close at N53 per share. Unilever appreciated by N2.57 to close at N52 per share, while Glaxosmithkline share price chalked up by N2.38 to close at N49.98 On the other hand, NewGold led the losers’ chart with a loss of N19 to close at N2, 538 per unit.
Flourmill followed with N3.99 to close at N76.01 per share, while Lafarge Wapco dipped by N2.20 to close at N72 per share. Guinness dropped N1.41 to close at N296 per share, while International Breweries lost N1.20 to close at N24 per share. Investors exchanged 683.23 million shares worth N4.34 billion in 7,301 deals against 628.94 million shares valued at N3.2 billion traded in 7,416 deals on Friday
