NSE market indices grow further by 1.12 %
The Nigerian Stock Exchange Market indices appreciated further by 1.12 per cent on Wednesday as some highly capitalised companies recording price gains. The All-share index appreciated by 373.07 points or 1.12 per cent to close at 33,708.18 against 33,335.11 recorded on Tuesday. Also, the market capitalisation appreciated by N12 billion. It opened at N10.666 trillion and closed at N10.786 trillion Nestle led the price gainers’ chart with a gain of N71 to close at N981 per share.
Nigerian Breweries followed with N7.99 to close at N169.99 per share, while Dangote Cement grew by N1.99 to close at N146.99 per share. Presco gained N1.65 to close at N25.90 per share, while Cadbury rose by N1.59 to close at N40.80 per share. On the other hand, NewGold, led the losers’ chart with a loss of N33 to close at N2, 437 per unit.
Julius Berger lost N5.99 to close at N54, while Guinness dropped N5 to close at N275 per share. PZ lost N3.25 to close at N37 per share, while Okomu Oil dipped by N2.99 to close at N58 per share. In all, investors exchanged 463.84 million shares worth N4.3 billion in 7,362 deals against the 528.22 million shares worth N3.7 billion exchanged in 6,847 deals on Tuesday.
