NSE market indices up by 0.31 per cent
A total of 515.93 million shares worth N3.2 billion were traded in 6,680 deals on the Nigerian Stock Exchange on Tuesday. This was against the 970.02 million shares valued at N8 billion traded in 6,374 deals on Monday. Stock prices rebounded on Tuesday which led to appreciation of market indices by 0.31 per cent.
The All-Share Index, which opened at 31,474.88, grew by 96.57 points to close at 31,571.45. Also, the market capitalisation appreciated by N31 billion to close at N 10.101 trillion from the N10.070 trillion recorded on Monday. Nestle led the price gainers’ chart with a gain of N33.95 to close at N790.25 per share.
NewGold followed with N5 to close at N2, 540 per unit, while Flourmill rose by 3.84 to close at N81 per share. Julius Berger grew by N3.83 to close at N60.50 per share, while International Breweries appreciated by N2.01 to close at N28. On the other hand, Nigerian Breweries led the losers’ chart by N1.10 to close at N153.90 per share.
Cadbury trailed with a loss of 87k to close at N32.88 per share, while NAHCO depreciated by 41k to close at N8.40 per share. Oando lost 40k to close at N13.60 per share, while NASCON dipped by 28k to close at N9.70 per share. Unity Bank emerged as the most traded stock as investors exchanged 60.29 million shares worth N48.55 million. It was followed by Transcorp which traded 58.58 million share valued at N70.08 million.
