NSE stock prices close on positive note
Weekly activities on the Nigerian Stock Exchange closed on positive note on Friday as the index appreciated by 1.1 per cent. The All-Share Index, which opened at 22,492.96, appreciated by 248.09 points or 1.1 per cent to close at 22,741.05. Market capitalisation fell by N79 billion to close at N7.259 trillion from the N7.181 achieved on Thursday.
NewGold led the gainers’ chart, gaining N23 to close at N2, 477 per unit. Dangote Cement followed with a gain of N4 to close at N116 per share, while Nigerian Breweries grew by 82k to close at N110.01 per share. LafargeWapco appreciated by 49k to close at N42 per share, while Dangote Suger rose by 21k to close at N4.41 per share. On the other hand, PZ Cussons led the price losers’ table, dropping 75k to close at N26 per share. Cadbury dipped by 35k to close at N14 per share, while ETI lost 20k to close at N10.10 per share. Similarly, UBA depreciated by 17k to close N4.33 per share, while Vita Foam fell by 16k to close at N3.14 per share. In all, investors exchanged 443.19 million shares worth N1.4 billion in 3,515 deals on Friday against 252.79 million shares worth N1.7 billion traded in 4,084 deals on Thursday.
