Omotosho Power Plant to be ready by February
The China Machinery Engineering Corporation, managers of Phase 2 of Omotosho Power Plant in Ondo State, says it will complete the 500 mega watts plant by February. Mr Liu Zhao-Long, the Managing Director of the company, disclosed this to Newsmen in Lagos.
Zhao-Long said that three out of the four turbines were already functioning and that the fourth would be completed by February. “We have almost finished work at the Omotosho Phase 2. The three turbines are contributing 375 mega watts to the national grid. When the fourth turbine is completed by February, the management will observe the warranty period of a year to oversee the plant before officially handing it over to the government,’’ he said.
Zhao-Long commended the effort of the Federal Government towards ensuring the availability of stable electricity supply to Nigerians. The plant started in 2010.
