Governors elected on the platform of the PDP have reiterated their unalloyed loyalty to President Goodluck Jonathan and dismissed insinuation that they would gang up against the President’s interest during the upcoming national convention of the party.
Gov. Godswill Akpabio of Akwa Ibom, who spoke to State House Correspondents, dismissed the allegation, describing it as mere speculation.
“No, no, I don’t believe that, those are speculations. There is no governor that will gang up against the President. You know, PDP is a democratic party and as far as I am concern the President is the leader of the party, so there is no way we the followers can gang up against our leader.
“The President remains our leader, the President is our leader and we go with our leader. And as far as I am concerned there is no issue because the President will like to see a democratic process emerged and as far as the PDP is concerned, the PDP recognises his leadership.”
On Ojukwu’s burial ceremony, Akpabio commended President Jonathan for ensuring that the Ikemba Nnewi was honoured with a national burial. As a governor I commend the President for the action that he should be given a national burial so that all of us could
