Rainoil scoops merit award for petroleum industry impact
Coming on the heels of its heralded celebration of two decades of operations, Rainoil Limited was last week conferred the 2018 Merit Award for Industry Impact at the just concluded Oil Trading and Logistics Conference Dinner and Awards held in Lagos. The conference, which had in attendance energy experts, petroleum industry big wigs, public sector personalities and a cross section of thought leaders and celebrities, is a traditional agenda-setting event for the downstream sector of Nigeria’s critical petroleum industry. The conference scope covers the entire spectrum of the downstream value chain from refining, trading, shipping, storage, haulage, distribution, marketing, equipment manufacturing and supplies, regulation and associated professional services.
According to the citation of Rainoil Limited announced at the conferment, the company received the corporate recognition for its innovative oil retail operations. Speaking after receiving the award on behalf of the company, Group Managing Director of Rainoil Limited, Dr. Gabriel Ogbechie thanked the event organisers for acknowledging the company’s increasing capability across the downstream value chain. He declared: “This recognition will encourage our entire team to redouble our efforts and deliver continued innovation, efficiency, service and sustainability in our operations across the country.”
Dr. Ogbechie was himself conferred with the accolade of the Downstream Man of the Year 2018 at the same event for his commitment to the downstream sector over the past 26 years. He thanked the event organisers for the honour among peers and expressed his happiness at the recognition. “It is a culmination of hard work and commitment to the downstream sector of the Nigerian oil and gas industry for the past 26 years,” he said. Rainoil Limited is a favourite petroleum marketer across the country with capability spanning the entire downstream value chain including petroleum product storage, haulage/distribution and retail sales. It commenced operations in 1997.
