NGX ASI post rebound, gains 37bps, market capitalisation gained ₦216.83bn
Today, the Lagos bourse posted a 37bps rebound to close at 96,924.86 points. The market performance was buoyed by gains in ARADEL (+10.00%), ZENITHBANK (+0.82%), and ACCESSCORP (+1.24%), which offset selloffs in GTCO (-1.02%), FBNH (-1.45%), and UBA (-1.74%). Accordingly, the year-to-date (YTD) return increased to 29.62%, while the market capitalization gained ₦216.83bn to close at ₦58.73tn. Analysis of today’s market activities showed trade turnover settled higher relative to the previous session, with the value of transactions advancing by 64.10%. A total of 744.5m shares valued at ₦16.48bn were exchanged in 9,700 deals. JAPAULGOLD (-2.26%) led the volume chart with 100.93m units traded, while JBERGER (+0.00%) led the value chart in deals worth ₦4.55bn. Market breadth closed positive at a 1.76-to-1 ratio with advancing issues outnumbering the declining ones. ARADEL (+10.00%) topped twenty-nine (29) others on the leader’s table while TANTALIZER (-6.25%) led sixteen (16) others on the laggard’s log.
