Ports: 25 ships discharge petroleum products, other
Nigerian Ports Authority has said that twenty-five ships are currently discharging petroleum products and other commodities at Apapa and Tin-Can Island ports in Lagos. The NPA stated this in its “Shipping Position’’ released in Lagos.
It said that the vessels were discharging buck wheat, general cargo, petrol, containers, bulk maize, empty container, diesel, soya beans, bulk gas, bulk corn and bulk fertiliser.
It also stated that 25 other ships laden with petroleum products, food items and other goods were expected to arrive at the ports between August 18 and September 2nd. “The expected ships are carrying buck wheat, containers, general cargoes, diesel, bulk fertiliser, bulk sugar, frozen fish, base oil, bulk gypsum, crude palmlein and petrol,’’ it said. It added that 11 ships had arrived at the ports and were waiting to berth with bulk fertiliser, crude palmlein, bulk corn, bulk maize, container, buck wheat and petrol.
