JAAC: Edo councils get N3.15b allocation in November
The Edo State Joint Account and Allocation Committee (JAAC) has declared N3.15 billion as the total allocation that accrued to the 18 Local Government Areas (LGAs) in the state for the month of October and shared in November. Addressing journalists at the end of the JAAC meeting presided over by the Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, at the Government House, in Benin, the Chairman of Oredo LGA, Mr. Jenkins Osunde, said the total deduction made from the gross allocation was N1.76 billion.
He explained, “Total salaries for Primary school teachers and non-teaching staff gulped N933.31 million and Pension Arrears contribution was N100 million. “Net deduction is N1,996,548,882 while total amount transferred to the LGAs is N1,380,787,755.” He stated that the Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) from the 18 councils for the month of October was N204, 399, 539.
