Nigeria ends 2025 with inflation at 15.15% in December
Nigeria’s inflation for December 2025 printed at 15.15%, compared to 17.33% in November 2025, reflecting an NBS adjustment for the base effect.
Highlights
Headline CPI (YoY): In December 2025, the Headline CPI recorded 15.15%, from 17.33% recorded in November 2025, reflecting an NBS adjustment for the base effect.
Headline CPI (MoM): On a month-to-month basis, the inflation rate in December 2025 was 0.54%, which was 0.68% lower than the rate recorded in November 2025 (1.22%).

Food Inflation (YoY): Food inflation, a significant driver of overall inflation, fell to 10.84% in December 2025 from 11.08% in November 2025.
Food Inflation (MoM): On a month-on-month basis, food recorded a deflation of -0.36% in December from an inflation of 1.13% in November 2025.
Core CPI (YoY): Core inflation, which excludes volatile agricultural produce and energy prices, stood at 18.63% in December, from 18.04% in November 2025. Core CPI (MoM):
On a month-on-month basis, the Core Inflation rate was 0.58% in December 2025, down by 0.7% compared to November 2025 (1.28%).
