NSE market capitalisation appreciates by N29bn
Trading on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) closed on positive note on Tuesday with the market capitalisation appreciating by N29 billion to close at N8.399 trillion. The market capitalisation lost N43 billion on Monday to close at N8.370 trillion. Also, the All-Share Index rose by 91.16 points to close at 26,358.73 from 26,267.57 achieved on Monday.
The NewGold topped the gainers’ chart, gaining N10 to close at N2, 663 per share and was followed by UACN with N2.98 to close at N42.98 per share. Flour Mills appreciated by N2.95 to close at N69.25 per share, while Nigerian Breweries chalked up N2.05 to close at N133.05 per share. The Lafarge Wapco gained 49k to close at N58 per share. Conversely, Total led the price losers’ with a loss of N6.25 to close at N118.75 per share.
It was followed by Glaxo which lost N1.94 to close at N38.91per share, while the Northern Nigerian Flour Mills shed N1.02 to close at N19.39 per share. The UAC Property lost 78k to close at N11.20 per share, while Academy Press depreciated by 30k to close at N2.70 per share. In all, a total of 397.04 million shares worth N2.49 billion were exchanged by investors in 4,192 deals. This was against the 194.93 million shares valued at N2.22 billion traded in 3,759 deals on Monday.
