Imo Assembly passes N30.4bn supplementary budget for 2012
The Imo House of Assembly has passed a supplementary budget of 30.4 billion for 2012 fiscal year. The house passed the budget in Owerri on Tuesday at the executive session and announced during its plenary. The Chairman of the House Committee on Budget and Appropriation, Dr Eudora Igwe, said the budget was appropriated following the crucial need to supplement the 2012 budget.
She said that the supplementary budget would go a long way in assisting the governor to complete some projects that were captured in the 2012 budget. Gov. Rochas Okorocha, had earlier submitted his proposal for the house to approve a supplementary budget for 2012. The Speaker of the house, Benjamin Uwajumogu, said that the budget was passed at the executive session of the house based on majority votes.
