Currency outside Nigerian banking system drops to N4.92trn in June
Currency outside the Nigerian banking system fell to N4.92 trillion in June from N5.19 trillion in May 2026.
The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) reported this on Tuesday in its latest report on Money Circulation and Credit Statistics.

The figure represents about 90% of the total money in circulation during the period. The money outside the banking sector has been dropping steadily in the last seven months.
The figure had dropped from N5.41 trillion in December 2025 to N4.92 trillion in June 2026 This has been the trend since October 2024 when the currency outside the banking sector rose to N4.29 trillion.
