Panic as Air Peace flight veers off runway in Port Harcourt
A crash was averted at the Port Harcourt International Airport, Rivers State, as an Air Peace Lagos to Port Harcourt veered off the runway. Video of Air Peace flight P47190, which veered off the runway, emerged on social media shortly after the incident in the early hours of Sunday. Passengers could be seen carrying their luggage as they disembarked from the plane. Osifo-Whiskey Efe, spokesperson for Air Peace Limited, confirmed the incident in a statement. “Air Peace confirms that its Flight P47190 operating from Lagos to Port Harcourt this morning, had a runway excursion after landing safely at the Port Harcourt International Airport,” Mr Efe said.
He added, “The aircraft veered slightly off the runway without any damage. All passengers disembarked safely and calmly, and no injuries were reported. We reassure the flying public of our unflinching commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety in all our operations.”
